Sports Physicals
Sports physicals are an important step in making sure student-athletes are healthy and ready to play. They help identify any medical conditions or injuries that could put your child at risk on the field or court, giving families peace of mind before the season begins. At our Minot clinic, we offer sports physicals by appointments on Fridays for just $25, completed by our experienced nurse practitioner. This quick and affordable visit ensures your student is cleared and prepared for a safe, successful season.
Your Questions Answered
Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that you may have many questions during this time. At Dakota Hope Clinic, we are committed to providing you with clear, honest answers in a safe and supportive environment. If your question isn't listed below, please feel free to reach out to us.

How much do your services cost?
All of our core services—including lab-quality pregnancy testing, limited OB ultrasounds, and options consultations—are provided at no cost to you. We are a non-profit community resource supported by local donors, which means you never have to worry about insurance or payment.
Do I need an appointment, and is it confidential?
While we encourage you to schedule an appointment to ensure a staff member is available, we do our best to accommodate requests. Most importantly, your privacy is our priority. All services are 100% confidential, and your information will not be shared with anyone without your explicit consent.
What should I bring to my first visit?
You only need to bring a photo ID. You do not need to bring proof of insurance or any form of payment. If you are coming for a pregnancy test, try to drink plenty of water before you arrive.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. We understand that having a support system is important. You are welcome to bring a friend, partner, or family member with you. We also offer specific support and resources for men who are navigating an unplanned pregnancy alongside their partner.
Do you provide or refer for abortions?
Dakota Hope Clinic provides accurate, evidence-based information on all your options, including abortion, adoption, and parenting. However, we do not perform or refer for abortions. Our goal is to provide you with the medical confirmation and education you need to make an informed decision for your future.

Frequently Asked Questions for
Sports Physicals

What is included in a sports physical?
A sports physical includes a review of medical history, vital signs, vision screening, and an evaluation of heart, lungs, joints, strength, and flexibility. This helps ensure the athlete is healthy and ready for physical activity.
Do I need a sports physical every year?
Most schools and athletic organizations require a sports physical each year. Annual exams help catch changes in health and ensure current eligibility for the upcoming season.
Can a sports physical be used as a regular checkup?
A sports physical focuses on athletic readiness and injury prevention, but it does not replace a full wellness exam. We recommend regular primary care visits in addition to sports physicals for overall health.
